June Release Notes 2022

With summer in full swing, we have been busy working on some exciting new features to improve our user and onboarding experience. Check out our latest release notes to find out more.

📣 What’s new?

Simplifying email and contact migration to StartMail
One of the most tedious tasks when switching to a different email provider is moving your existing emails and contacts with you. As we continue to build out our user experience, we are excited to announce that we have now made this process a whole lot easier with the launch of our new ShuttleCloud Migration Portal. The tool lets you import up to 10GB of emails and contacts from any email provider and will guide you through the transfer process with just a few clicks.

Please note: The Migration Portal is still in the Beta test phase and available in English and German. If you want to learn more about the technology behind the tool, or details on how to make the switch, please check out our dedicated support article. As always, your feedback helps us to improve our product, so let us know what you think at support@startmail.com.

Introducing guides and tutorials to help you get the most out of StartMail
We know that getting started with a new privacy product or service can quickly feel overwhelming. And even as a long-time customer it can be difficult to keep up with new features product updates. That’s why we have invested time in creating several in-product guides and tutorials that highlight and explain important StartMail features to make sure you get the most out of your subscription.

  • Set up guides will automatically show in your webmail upon account set-up. You can also turn them on or off any time by navigating to “Settings” → “Guides and Tutorials”.
  • A Privacy Guide will be shown the first time you compose an email in your webmail environment, walking you through the most important steps to send private email.

 ðŸš€ What's next?

Enabling Custom Aliases for Custom Domains
An alias is a great way to send and receive emails without giving away your actual email address. Up until now, all aliases created in a Custom Domain Account (CDA) ended with @use.startmail.com. That’s why we are happy to share that we are updating this feature so you can set up your aliases ending with your own domain address.

If you have questions about any of these updates, please contact our Support team via support@startmail.com!
