What’s new in StartMail?

Happy New Year Startmailers! Let’s kick off the year with a look back on what happened last year at StartMail and read all about the exciting plans for 2021!

📣 New features

Contact Group Enhancement

You can now easily send an email to an entire group of contacts with our improved contact settings. Simplicity and functionality combined! 

PGP Signatures

We added a blue banner between the From/To/ Subject headers and the message body for PGP messages. PGP signatures are verified when you open a message. If there is any reason to doubt a signature’s legitimacy, we will notify you in a red banner.

🐛 Bug fixes

Account Renewals

Some users are currently unable to renew their accounts after the one-month grace period. We are working on a solution; in the meantime, we are manually extending affected accounts so you can continue to use your StartMail Account. If you cannot renew, please contact us via support@startmail.com. 

🎁 What is next?

Companion Accounts

As we transition towards a full migration of all our users to the New StartMail version, we have a great deal for current Companion Accounts that include a 50% discount when upgrading! This will give you a nice upgrade from 2GB storage to 10GB! Any accounts that have not been upgraded will automatically be terminated.

Reskin

New year, new interface! We are working on a new design for your StartMail. This will include a new style and tooltips that will guide you and provide tips on using StartMail – taking our encrypted email experience to the next level!

Usability Tests

Not a StartMail user yet? Help us keep improving!

We are looking for participants for a usability test; in exchange for your time, we offer a one-year free StartMail account and an Amazon gift voucher for $30.
